Accident...or ..fate?

Me and Aaron were driving along the 4 lane monday afternoon..we saw a terrible site..at first it looked like a squirel..but as we got closer and saw it better i realized it was a tiny kitten..in the road..inbetween the wheels of a 4x4..it got hit once then twice..then managed to run off the road..draggin its poor back end..i was sick..the cars in front of us..never even slowed down.. [img]frown.gif[/img] ..i told aaron we cant let it die here..the vets office is up the road 2 seconds..within walking distance..we have to help it...if its in bad shape they will humanely put it down..better than it dying slowly and horribly..so we got off the road and went looking for it..aaron searched bushes and i stood up on the bank..he saw the lil guy..and it was alive..little did we know how alive..haha..he tried to scoop him up..and was attacked for it..the lil guy fought like a mountain lion..screamed..hissed....but aaron got him up in his shirt ..he raced up the hill carrying the fighting kitten like a football!..got him into the car..and out he came..into the floorboard..hmmm..now what he said..the damn thing ran up into my dashboard!..we couldnt get him out...drove on up to the vets office...and they had someone come out..and sadly they had to pull him out of the dash..now we knew he was hurt already..i was crying thinking it was hurting him worse..but knowing it had to be done..got him into a carrier..and took him inside..the vet came in..and was almost eaten alive..by this teeny tiny ball of fire..i wouldnt even touch it..*L..but finally they got him held down to examine him..the news was ...1)you can have him put down..or 2)have an xray to determine what kind of damage was done..well..hell..i said we went thru all this ..YES..xray him...okie..they did the xray..and found out his back leg was broken..at the joint..shattered..but..it wasnt a bad thing the vet said...since he was so small..his bones werent solidified as of yet..still semi-rubbery..he said the bone will fuse on it own..and create a new joint out of scar tissue...and he should be fine..might have a limp..might not...YAY..so now..internally..they werent sure..his color was good..heart seemed normal..higher becasue of shock and trauma..if he lives thru the night..he should be on the road to recovery..*whew..scare me further*..anyhow..to make a long story short...the kitten was wild..had never been handled before..the vet said..becuase of the way he was attacking..and behaving..feral he called him....ok..so now i have a wild cat living in my bathroom..hmmm....today..three days later..he has eaten..drank water..and him and aaron are big buddies..i went in a few ago to see my 6'3 hubby..lying on his tummy..a teeny kitten on its tummy..enjoying the best scratching its ever had...and let me tell you..that baby has a real engine running..*L..i never heard such a small animal purr so loud..so..80 bucks later(and more to come..shots..nutering..ect)..we have a brand new pet in our home...Tango has been very quiet..dosnt bother the carrier..hasnt sniffed too close or anything..its almost like he knows..something in there is hurt..and he isnt to bother it...lord i love my animals....

SO........any name suggestions?

As a fellow cat owner and lover I applaud you saving the poor cat from certain death. I have 3 cats (1 mom and 2 of her kittens)

One morning the mom cat snuck out and about 30 mins later my 2 yr old son found her sitting on the back porch with 1 eye closed and blood running down her face. He came and got me and when I opened the door she just blazed for under the bed. I knew right away she been shot by a dick head neighbor who hates cats.

I tried to get her out from under then bed. She knew she was safe at home and safe under the bed. But for having a cat for 3 yrs it was soooooooo scared and in pain from the pellet hitting her eye she would not let me touch her or pick her up. I seiously had to take a stick and poke her into a pet crate as she clawed and chomped on my hands and arms many times trying so I feel for ya and know how it feels to try to help a scared animal.

She wont hardly even look outside now but as soon as we got her back from the vet, he said she prolly would loose her eye sight in that eye, she wanted nothing more then to be held and purred for days on end not leaving our side.

Triple thumbs up to you for doing all that for a pet that wasnt even yours!!!

Shatz..would you beleive this is the second time this has happend..i was driving to work one morning..and saw a lil tiny grey ball in the road..and when i went to straddle it..to drive on..it raised it head up..well...i pulled off the road..there was another car coming..i flagged her..pointing..she didnt stop..but straddled it also..poor thing was screamin and trying to hide itself in the road..but it couldnt move...the next car stopped..so i could run out into the road..and pick the kitten up..when i reached down..it looked up..and i swear it was saying help me..i got it picked up..put it in an old towel in the car..and drove to the vet..waited 15 minutes for them to open..and this time it was 130 bucks..but it was the same thing..broken back leg..i kept it for about a month till he was better..i dont really "like" cats..im a dog person..haha..so i found him a new home..a friends cat had died a few months before..and she fell in love with him..today he is 4 years old..and living the good life.. [img]smile.gif[/img] ..i dont regret spending the money to save either of them...to me..its doing without a new pair of shoes..or some books..some trifling thing..you know?..but in this kitty's case he is staying..aaron loves him..*L..i guess im just tenderhearted when it comes to animals.. [img]redface.gif[/img] ..I'd save them all if i could.. [img]eek.gif[/img]
